Eva Gildea
Eva Gildea is a painter based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she is completing a Master of Landscape Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her paintings seek to capture the inevitable unfolding of life, compressed, elongated, and excavated on the surface of the canvas.
Her studio practice spans oil painting, mineral pigments, trees and soil, computation, and simulation, informing how she reads and designs landscapes. Before graduate school, she worked at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates in Brooklyn, contributing to projects encompassing thousands of acres of urban parks.
